Chimney sweep in Hampshire

Hampshire spans the widest range of anywhere we work. Portsmouth and Southampton bring dense urban terracing where flues run within inches of the house next door, and where a high proportion of larger properties have been converted into flats — so a single flue may pass through several separate homes on its way to the pot. Proving those flues do not leak is not a formality.

Inland the picture changes completely. Winchester has the oldest and most heavily protected building stock on the round. Petersfield, Bishop's Waltham and the Meon Valley villages sit off the gas network, where a stove is primary heating rather than an amenity and gets worked accordingly. Around Liphook and Bordon the woodland means locally cut fuel, which is excellent seasoned and a genuine hazard green.
