From a routine annual sweep to a camera survey after a chimney fire. If you are not sure which one you need, ring and describe what the fire is doing — that is usually enough to tell.
What we take on
Every job on the van.
Every sweep includes a flue inspection and a draw check as standard. Beyond that, each of these is a job in its own right with its own reason for calling — so you only ever book the one you need.

Open fires & inglenooks
Traditional brush-and-rod sweeping for open hearths, including wide inglenook throats and register plates that need lifting.

Wood burners & multi-fuel stovesBaffle out, flue swept top to bottom, rope seals and glass checked. Stoves in constant use want sweeping twice a year, not once.03
Bird nests & cowl fitting
Nest removal outside the March–August breeding season, followed by a bird guard or cowl so it does not happen again next spring.

Thatched propertiesSwept from below, with a full external inspection of the stack and ridge. Thatch is unforgiving of a flue nobody has looked at.05
CCTV flue inspection
A camera survey of the full flue when something is not drawing right, before a sale, or after a chimney fire. You get the footage.

Smoke-draw & integrity testingProving a flue is sound and venting where it should. Booked on its own when a room smokes back, before a purchase, or after a fire.07
Stove maintenance & repair
Door ropes, glass, baffles and fire bricks — the parts that wear out first. Usually done in the same visit as the sweep.

What it costs.
Published, so you can work out roughly what you are in for before you ring. Every figure is a starting price for a straightforward job — we confirm the actual price with you on the phone before anything is booked.
Sweeping
A full brush-and-rod sweep, a flue inspection, a smoke-draw test and the certificate emailed the same day. One price per flue.
Single lined flue. The Early Bird price applies off-season.

An unlined flue takes longer and carries more risk of debris.

A wide throat is swept across its full width, not up a single line. Varies with the time it takes.

Inspection and nests
The jobs that are not a sweep. Each is booked in its own right, and each answers a different question.

First hour, then £50 an hour after that. Not taken between March and August — nesting birds are protected by law.

Worth knowing
- Every price is per flue. A property with two chimneys is two jobs, though we will always do them in one visit.
- There is no call-out fee anywhere on the round, and no charge for evenings or Saturdays.
- We confirm the price with you on the phone before anything is booked. Nothing is taken up front.
Booking off-season? The Early Bird Special brings a standard sweep down from £70 to £60.
Not sure which one you need?
Most people ring describing a symptom rather than a service — the fire smokes back, there is scratching above the fireplace, the glass keeps blackening, the survey flagged the chimney. That is genuinely more useful to us than a service name.
