Sweeping in Southampton.
Southampton is a city, and the sweeping work is city work — dense Victorian and Edwardian terracing through Shirley, Portswood and Bitterne, larger period villas around Bassett, and a great deal of post-war rebuilding where the war removed what was there before.
The terraced stock has the same characteristic as Portsmouth and Worthing: several flues in one stack, party walls shared, and a long history of alterations that can leave flues connected where they should not be. Where a house has been converted into flats — and a great many here have — the picture gets more complicated again, because a flue may now pass through a property that has nothing to do with the fireplace it serves.
That last point is worth taking seriously. A leaking flue in a converted house puts combustion gases into somebody else's home.

Smoke-draw & integrity testing
In converted houses a flue passes through other people's homes. Proving it does not leak matters more here than almost anywhere.
05
CCTV flue inspection
Conversions and a century of alteration make a flue's actual route a question worth answering properly.
We do all six across Southampton — this is simply what the local building stock tends to throw up. See everything we take on.
