Chimney sweep in Arundel

Open fires, wood burners, multi-fuel stoves and thatch — swept, inspected and draw-tested, with the certificate emailed before we drive away. No call-out fee.

Sweeping in Arundel.

Arundel is built on a hill below the castle, and the town's older housing reflects it — flint and brick cottages, steep terraced streets, and a high proportion of listed and period buildings packed tightly together. It is beautiful and it is awkward to work on, in roughly equal measure.

Flint and rubble-built stacks behave differently from clean brickwork. Mortar joints are more irregular, they weather unevenly, and a flue running through that kind of masonry is more likely to have small breaches that let smoke track where it should not. Where a cottage has been knocked through or extended, the flue may run a route that no longer matches anything visible from inside.

The steep streets matter practically as well. Parking is limited, access to some stacks is genuinely difficult, and roof work above a listed building is not something to improvise. If a job needs a tower rather than a ladder, we would rather tell you that when you book than on the doorstep.

Arundel sits on the same round as the rest of the county. No call-out fee anywhere on it.
