Sweeping in Bournemouth.
Bournemouth was built as a Victorian resort, and its housing stock is the result — large villas in the central chines and along the clifftops, dense Edwardian terracing behind them, and a great deal of later infill.
The big villas are the distinctive work. Houses of that size were built with fireplaces in almost every room, which means stacks carrying five, six or more flues. A high proportion have since been converted into flats, and that changes the picture materially: a flue serving a ground-floor fireplace may now run through two other people's homes on its way to the pot.
Where that flue has a defect, the consequence is not confined to the property that lit the fire. In a converted house, flue integrity is a shared safety question rather than a private one.

06
Smoke-draw & integrity testing
In a converted villa a leaking flue puts combustion gases into other people's homes. Proving it does not is the job.
05
CCTV flue inspection
Conversions make flue routes genuinely uncertain. A camera settles which flue serves which fireplace.
We do all six across Bournemouth — this is simply what the local building stock tends to throw up. See everything we take on.
